Homemade Very Vanilla Whipped Cream & Strawberry Shortcake

This is going to be one of the shortest and yummiest recipes ever that I share probably. The reason I am sharing this with you is because I am SO VERY lucky that I got to college in Lansing, MI, which happens to be the world HQ for the LorAnn Oils Company. You know who they are if you are involved at all in making candy or anything that requires flavor oils. Not only are they right down the road from college, I have spent the last 8 weeks cooking right next a girl named Martha, who works there! Her boss sent a few bottles of coolness to give me to review for the blog and I FINALLY had time to use some and I cracked open the deliciousness called VANILLA BEAN PASTE.

Let me just say that once you go bean paste you won’t go back to extract. Its like using a real vanilla bean without having to split it and its liquid. I LOOOOOOVE IT! It costs about $8 for this 4 oz. bottle and they have a 16 oz. one as well. YOU MUST TRY THIS! You will see the vanilla bean flecks and that is a very good thing so don’t be scared! Its so very delicious!

Strawberry Shortcake w/ Homemade Vanilla Whipped Cream

To make the strawberries: 2 qts of hulled berries and 1/2 c. powdered sugar, sifted. Mash your berries with a potato masher and work the sugar in. Pour over premade shells or homemade bisquits. Seriously a dessert in less than ten minutes. YUM.
