Teenagers and cell phones go together like peanut butter and jelly. The two issues many parents face are 1) affordability and 2) overages. Teens are notorious for racking up large bills on traditional lines. Enter Walmart Family Mobile. Not only can your teen have a cool phone but they can also get unlimited calls, texts, AND DATA(which includes up to 10GB of 4G LTE)plus a free movie on VUDU every month, per line for $49.88/month with the new Walmart Family Mobile PLUS plan! You can watch that free movie on any device that has a VUDU app, like me on my PS3!!
The number one reason our 18 year old didn’t have a phone with service is because he is not ready for a contract, and we aren’t willing to pay more for him when he doesn’t need it. However, he is soon to graduate high school and will be working and hopefully will start driving his own car. Even now there are times he is with friends and had no way to contact us unless he had WiFi service. We started to worry about reaching him and then we found the PERFECT solution..he can stay connected to us and we don’t have to sign a contract. It’s really a Win-Win!
Our son decided to get the LG G Stylo which retails at $179.99. Its a large android based smart phone that crosses into the Phablet category with it’s 6 inch display and stylus. Coming from a small apple phone, this was a HUGE change for him, one that he loves.
We went to Walmart and bought the phone and had it activated right there in the store, they set it up for us, and soon enough the teen was in the back seat already on his social media sites being connected as never before. As fun as it is for him, as his parents this service has given us peace of mind that keeps him in touch with us when he is not at home, and at the same time he can enjoy streaming his favorite songs or shows and movies.
One of the best things about the service is that you can choose the level you need, for instance if you have WiFi at home, you won’t use as much. I’ve been on a contract for a bit and have considered not getting another one now that these contract free options offer really decent phones and incredible service features. Literally the best of both worlds, he stays in touch, we stay free from unexpected costs!
