When my now 17 year old son was five, his Aunt took it upon herself to tell him that there is no Santa. I won’t even go into how mad I was but suffice it to say I still don’t like her or trust her. Since then we don’t do anything to tout any mythical characters. No tooth fairy, no bunny, nothing, and all because I believe that my Sister-In-Law is going to spoil it for them. Ironically my kids KNOW that the big myths aren’t real but still somehow they believe in the magic of it all. They still get excited to see Santa even when they KNOW its me and dad buying presents. Maybe its because I believe in the magic of Christmas for kids.
Recently, I was asked to try an amazing service called portablenorthpole.com, and with it I can have videos and phone calls made for my kids from Santa!
The whole idea is so cute, you sign up and input information like what goal your child is working on, and Santa comes in hi-def to your screens (mobile too!) and has a sweet message that will delight your child. You even have different pronunciations to choose from to make sure Santa will say your child’s name correctly. They didn’t have the right one for my Alyssa (he said it as a-leese-a) but the boys names just fine.
Aiden, my six year old, was the first to see the cute videos, his reactions were priceless! His eyes got HUGE when Santa said his name, and when Santa said he knew that we’ve been working to get him to be nicer to his sister. Here is the actual video made for Aiden!. There are also birthday messages and don’t worry, there are even hilarious messages to send adults too!
You can try the service for free or purchase one of the packages they offer, including a Holiday Pass that gives you unlimited messages and calls 🙂 As one of my wonderful readers I am delighted to offer you 20% off for web or mobile products with code: BLG20BKP.
