Not Your Average Baby Blanket: Fill In The Blankie

Last year around this time, I visited my friend’s blog for the first time and ended up reading the whole thing! One of her posts was of her then baby boy holding the cutest personalized blanket, from a company called Fill In The Blankie. This company offers super soft and luxurious blankets for babies and more. Its quite simply the perfect baby gift. My son Aiden never really had anything personalized a baby but since he is only three, when I was asked to review the blanket on Serendipity Mommy, I was more than happy to oblige.

About the company:

The Real Miss Sonya

The real Miss Sonya was born in 1901. She was my wife’s Swedish Mormor (which translates into “mother’s mother”). Her loves were her family, baking, weaving and embroidery. When she wasn’t in her kitchen making a loaf of cardamon coffee cake or some pepakokor cookies, she was in her rocking chair embroidering one of her heirloom quality blankets for the newest babyin the family.

Her blankies were the inspiration for our Sonya Bebeblankees. We have searched high and low for the softest weaves and the silkiest edges. Each embroidered blankie is prepared with love and care. They are super-unique and extremely thoughtful. We hope we make you look good by giving this gift.

How The Company Began

Started in 2004, we’re a Dallas-based Baby Blankie company specializing in unique Embroidered Baby Blankies: all the while, trying get a few smiles in the process. While many personalization shops or national retailers offer personalization, it’s usually 20 or so characters and takes a few weeks. Well, it’s part of who we are not to settle for status quo. So, we offer up to 200 characters per blankie and 3-7 day turn-around.

Since we launched our site in June 2004, we’ve gotten a lot of feedback from our customers. See what others are saying about their Miss Sonyas: Feedback on our Personalized Baby Blankets.

Our Mission

Offer customers a super-fun, fast, and easy way to give the most unique Baby Gift possible and generate the highest number of smiles we can muster.

I chose the Natalie’s On Cloud Nine 30X30 blanket in reflection pond blue color with chocolate color thread, and the font I chose was Sweet Dreams 3. it showed up rolled up and cute with a baby pin holding the ribbon

Our personalization reads

Side 1/Top: Sweet dreams little Aiden Marshall
Side 2/Right Side: Mommy and Daddy LOVE you so much
Side 3/Bottom: Your big bro’ Colton and big sis’ Alyssa ADORE you
Side 4/Left Side: You are the greatest gift in our life sweet Aiden

This blanket is INCREDIBLY soft. Aiden loves it and calls it his “My Name Blanket” and cuddles with it when he is tired. I love the thickness of this blanket and honestly if they made queen size bed sheets this luxurious I would sign right up! I was asked to give the blanket a good try, let it get dirty and wash it and just really run it through the paces to test the durability. I wash it weekly since, well, I have a BOY. I can happily report that the blanket still looks just as good as it did when I got it and its still soft. It’s a good lovey size blanket for him, as a newborn it could be a swaddle blanket for really cute photos. I wish I had one of these when my daughter was little, I love pink and love the pink version of this blanket. So cute! I just love that these blankets really tell a story, its not just a name, its four sides of telling your child how much they mean to you.

Overall I am very happy with the product. The checkout process was flawless for me and I am quite happy with our blanket. The blankets that start at $39, its just the luxury I wanted costs more. Its Egyptian cotton though and these blankets are made very well. Definitely worth the money but probably not for the frugal.

Buy It: You can get one of these adorable blankets at Fill In The Blankie. My blanket retails for $140, Which is $119 for the blanket and shipping.

  1. That is just too pretty … a bit overpriced but pretty.

    • Yep that was the biggest flaw I found, its a great gift but most people I know don’t spend that much on a gift for babies except grandparents and they usually help with the furniture or gear like swings and car seats.

  2. The blog was absolutely fantastic! lots of great information and inspiration, I love collecting personalized blankets and yours is just a perfect one!
