I just love new things, don’t you? I haven’t written a personal post in a bit so I am going to try and catch you up on the latest happenings. The new year came in quietly as it usually does and I gladly stayed up to watch my favorite celeb couple Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy have that annual giant new years kiss! My birthday falls on January 6th and I got my yearly call from my mom to sing Happy Birthday. We chatted for a bit about stuff, but i remember hearing her say NO WAY when I told her Donnie Wahlberg followed me on Twitter for my birthday and he and Jenny both gave me a Happy Birthday shout-out. My mom is a closet Donnie fan I know it. She watched Blue Bloods and Wahlburgers religiously! Its nice to have this connection with her after so many years. Who knew that New Kids on the Block would propel me to connect with my mom more?
New blog. Okay this one is a big one. I started blogging when my youngest was just a few months old and started blogging more and more. That same boy is now 6 years old. Its not that I stopped becoming a mommy, it is that I matured as did my content. You’d be amazed if you knew just how much I censor myself on my own blog. the ONE place that is supposed to be mine that I can use to air out anything I want. But because this blog is my full time job right now, I felt I would alienate companies and none would want to work with me if I was myself. As you can already guess this is what lead to me not posting! I don’t post about my children much because a) My older two are now 17 and almost 12, privacy is number one for them and b) I don’t really plan a lot of things that would make “perfect blog material” with them. This means I’m not being run by my blog, I am not a slave to it and I am enjoying being myself online and in my real life. My authentic self. My blog name will change to My Serendipity Life, which absolutely describes my whole life, not just one part. I am not interested in attracting companies that represent baby and toddler items, nor do i want to be in a pigeon hole. I can be myself when I don’t have to worry about offending companies when I drop the F-bomb. I gotta be me and to do that here with this blog I have to make changes so that it fits me, otherwise I will be making changes in myself to fit my blog and that doesn’t make any sense at all! The domain is ready, just looking for how to transfer everything without paying out the you know what.
As I wrote previously I am a total Block Head (New Kids On The Block Super Fan) and talk online to my BH girls daily and some even on the phone. We all KNEW that there would be a tour announcement weeks before it happened, to the point that we already knew that they would be touring with TLC and Nelly. I love them both, but never would have thought to pair them together for a tour since Nelly is much more hip hop than NKOTB. Still it was exciting! I didn’t think I would be able to go because I refused to go any less than a VIP seat after sitting in the nosebleeds for my first NKOTB concert. I just happened to have got lucky and had money arranged right when I needed for a ticket. First I had to get Block Nation though, I planned on it anyway but this was my push because I wanted first crack at the tickets. I wouldn’t call it a waste of money but I can say that at the time of writing my VIP package isn’t sold out yet at my venue. Still it was something I wanted and in doing so I got these amazeballs socks and glasses!
So this tour they have added bars with bar stools that are attached to the stage. Literally ATTACHED to the stage. As in the performers can bend down and chat with you, share your snack or whatever. Besides coming with a meet and greet and a bunch of perks the price was very high. But guess who’s sitting on a stool? Here is a pic to show you how close.
I also learned a few days ago that my sister is also going to the concert! I am possibly going to carpool with them which works for all of us because I get free parking with my VIP, so they can park and then have dinner while I get my chance to meet the guys FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME EVER!. I ordered a custom shirt and custom shoes that I will share a little closer to the May 30 concert date. Its going to be unique and amazing. I want to make the first impression a very good one so that they remember me when I see them again in October when it is time for the cruise! As I write this I have 99 days until my concert and 230 days until the cruise. I need to make some money real soon to pay down the cruise, but I am otherwise excited.
So that is pretty much my update, fighting a horrible head cold/fever this week but I am on the tail end now. I decided to go ahead and open up my hair bow biz to help with income again so if you know anyone.. I am offering crystal embellishments too so I am eager to get some ball caps and things to bling and sell!
