It’s not very often that i have a chance to visit Disney World because I live in Michigan and travel isn’t in the budget. When I found out that Disney would be inviting the Brandcation attendees to visit the parks I was ecstatic! I have been there 2 times before, technically in 2 different centuries and this would be my 3rd time visiting. However it was the very first time that my best friend Bobbie of One Scrappy Mom would be visiting! Its always exciting to watch the first timers soak it all in. Disney was the perfect ending to the exciting weekend of Brandcation. Although I got to stay in Kissimmee one more night after the Disney visit, Brandcation was officially over and we were free to hang out at Disney to our hearts content.
We started at Magic Kingdom. We met a couple of adorable chipmunks, rode a couple rides, and then headed to Epcot for the culinary Demo. Now to me the place was busy but to the people that come every weekend, the place was very empty. It was chilly though and I wasn’t very smart wearing shorts!
Bobbie met her dream man (actually twice she ran into him) so we had to get a photo:
And we made our way around the “world” as we worked up some hunger and finally ended up at the back in “Italy” at the Tutto Italia Ristorante, where we had some very tasty pizza and well, another blogger and I admired the view, in this case, Gabrielle the waiter:
As we made our way back to the front of the park we found the character spot which is a building that has 3-4 characters or more for you to get photos and autographs!
I loved the street shows and it was neat looking at all the menu’s in the kiosks for the International Food and Wine festival. And this year I did something new and it was to trade pins! At first I didn’t trade with anyone but I really got into it when we were in the gift shops at Epcot, especially when the staff had princess pins. I traded the staff for a Donald Duck pin on purpose to get it to Bobbie and she loved me for it 🙂
We were worn out by the time it got dark but we had some time to ride so we went into Spaceship Earth. The first time I rode this was with my husband and oldest son as well as my FIL back in 2002. Our camera had died right as the ride started so we didn’t get to capture it. This time I had my Nikon with me and got some great footage. An added plus is that they took mine and Bobbie’s photos for a hilarious flash animation that showed at the end!
i had an amazing time at Disney with Bobbie and Maria and the only thing I would change about that day is to ride a lot more rides AND bring my family! I would like to come back in 2011 with my entire family and stay for a few days in Kissimmee to have a nice relaxed vacation! I will say this though, I am glad i took a lot of photos because I love looking back at the memories of this trip!
Special thanks to Disney World for inviting myself and the other bloggers for a day of Magic!
